YOUR LIFE IS NOT A COMPETITION

It is easy to feel behind when everyone around you seems to be moving forward. Someone gets a new job, another buys a house, a friend travels abroad, and someone else celebrates a major achievement. Before long, you may begin to question your own progress.

Social media can make this feeling even stronger. We see people's celebrations, successes, and beautiful moments, often without knowing the challenges, sacrifices, or uncertainties behind them.

Without realising it, we begin measuring our lives against other people's milestones.

But life does not follow one timetable. People start at different points, face different responsibilities, and have different opportunities. What comes easily to one person may require years of effort from another.

Someone else's progress does not mean you are failing.

You can celebrate another person's success without feeling that yours has been delayed. You can learn from others without turning their achievements into a reason to doubt yourself.

Instead of constantly asking how far you have gone compared with someone else, consider asking whether you are growing, learning, making better decisions, and moving towards the life you want.

Progress is not always a promotion, a new possession, or a public achievement. Sometimes, it is finding the courage to start again, becoming more responsible, protecting your peace, or learning to handle difficult situations differently.

Give yourself permission to grow at a realistic pace. Set meaningful goals, work towards them, and appreciate the steps you take along the way.

You do not need to prove that you are doing better than someone else. You need to build a life that reflects your values, responsibilities, and aspirations.

Keep growing. Celebrate others. Trust your journey. Your life is not a competition.
